About Wine & Design Founders: Harriet & Emmy

Emmy Preiss has two children, two bull dogs, and an exceptionally awesome husband.  She is very creative and loves to paint (even though she will not admit it). Harriet Edwards Mills has one child, one golden retriever, and a husband that is so fabulous. She has been in sales her whole life, but became a stay-at-home Mom once she had her son. Harriet is creative, but admits she cannot paint a lick (until WINE AND DESIGN!). She loves people and loves thinking of new and fun things to sell and do.

Together, these longtime friends were looking for a creative outlet and decided to go into business together. With dreams of owning their own business, Emmy and Harriet discovered the “painting/wine party” concept in January 2010. It was love at first sight. Knowing that no such company yet existed in Raleigh, the ladies started doing their research and after many long days and longer nights, prepared their business plan and started to seek financial backing. Despite the economy, their equity partners believed in their concept and extended them the loan. The rest is history.  Contact us today to book your private paint party.
